Oh-Hoo's Coral and Racha speedboat day is the Coral Island tour from Phuket to book for most people: about 3 hours on each island, with lunch at Kahung Beach, snorkel gear and soft drinks in one mid-priced ticket. We checked five on GetYourGuide in October 2026. The catch: hotel pickup is free only from listed areas such as Patong, Kata, Karon and Rawai. Coral Island, or Koh Hey, lies about ten kilometres south of Phuket, Oh-Hoo's half-day listing says.

Which Coral Island tour should you book?

"Coral Island tour" covers five different trips from Phuket: three speedboat tours, a catamaran and a private longtail boat. All five include snorkel gear; they differ in hours, lunch, pickup and how long you actually get on Coral Island.

Book Oh-Hoo's full day for about 3 hours on each of two islands, its half-day for the shortest group tour at 4 hours, and Seven Plus Travel's catamaran for a sunset with the park fee included. Choose Phuket Paradise Travel's day for the lowest price with lunch – Coral Island is optional on it – and the private longtail for a boat of your own for up to six.

Best all-round day: Oh-Hoo's Coral and Racha speedboat

Oh-Hoo's Coral and Racha day is the one to book if you want both islands without rushing: its itinerary gives about 3 hours on Racha Island and about 3 hours on Coral Island, with lunch at Kahung Beach. Snorkel gear, a life jacket, soft drinks, fruit, a beach chair, insurance and a guide are included, and the listing gives 8 hours in all.

After a van ride of about 45 minutes to Chalong Pier and a 30-minute safety briefing, the speedboat takes about 45 minutes to Racha, where the stop lists a walk, swimming and snorkelling. The Coral Island stop adds lunch, another walk and more snorkelling before the ride of about 45 minutes back.

The catch is pickup: it's free only from Phuket Town, Rawai, Nai Harn, Patong, Tri Trang, Kalim, Kata and Karon. From Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao, Laguna, Panwa, Boat Lagoon, Koh Sirey and Laem Hin there's an extra charge per person, and from Layan, Nai Thon, Nai Yang, Mai Khao, Ao Por and the airport you need a private van at extra cost. The listing doesn't mention a park fee.

Skip it if 8 hours is too long: Oh-Hoo's half-day below covers Coral Island alone in 4. The listing says the tour isn't suitable for pregnant guests or people with mobility impairments.

Shortest group tour: Oh-Hoo's Coral Island half-day

Oh-Hoo's half-day is the shortest of the four group tours, at 4 hours, and it's Coral Island only: one stop of about 3 hours, with swimming, snorkelling and kayaking on the itinerary. Transfers work as on the full day, with free pickup from the same areas and the same extra charges elsewhere.

Soft drinks, water, fruit, snorkel gear, a life jacket, a beach chair and a guide are included, and the listing sells child tickets for ages 4 to 11. No lunch is listed.

Skip it if you want lunch in the price: Oh-Hoo's full day adds Racha Island and lunch at Kahung Beach. The listing says the tour isn't suitable for pregnant guests or people with mobility impairments or heart problems.

Best for a sunset, park fee included: Seven Plus Travel's catamaran

Seven Plus Travel's catamaran is the tour to book for a sunset: its itinerary ends with about 45 minutes at Promthep Cape, Phuket's southern tip, after about 1.5 hours at Coral Island and about 100 minutes at Racha Island. It's also the only one of the five that lists a park fee as included. The listing gives the length only as "1 day".

Lunch is served on board at the Coral Island stop. It's the only tour of the five with a kayak and a stand-up paddleboard on its included list, alongside snorkel gear, drinks, fruit, insurance and a guide, and the listing also mentions fishing gear, a water slide and hammock nets.

The listing pitches the boutique catamaran Aeolos as "limited to just 22 guests", but the same listing says several boats operate and boats are allocated at random, so you may sail on another boat. Hotel pickup comes only with the transfer options, and bags over 20 inches cost extra. It also had the highest per-person price of the five.

Skip it if Coral Island is the point – Oh-Hoo's two speedboat tours give it about 3 hours – or if anyone in your group is over 70, pregnant, or has heart problems or high blood pressure, which the listing says it isn't suitable for.

Lowest price with lunch: Phuket Paradise Travel's Racha day, Coral optional

Phuket Paradise Travel's speedboat day was the lowest-priced tour with lunch of the five we checked, but it's a Racha Island day first: about 2 hours on Racha, then lunch at Banana Beach for about 1.5 hours. Coral Island is marked optional on the itinerary, and so is Kahung Beach – about 1.5 hours each – so ask the operator before you book if Coral Island is the reason you're going.

Hotel pickup and drop-off from 14 listed locations are included, along with coffee, tea, a mini breakfast, lunch, snorkel gear and insurance. The listing gives 5.5 to 7 hours in all.

Water activities on the beach, such as parasailing and scuba diving, cost extra, and tips aren't included. Skip it if Coral Island is a must – Oh-Hoo's full day gives it about 3 hours – or if you're pregnant or have back problems or high blood pressure, which the listing says it isn't suitable for.

Your own boat for up to six: Oh-Hoo's private longtail

Oh-Hoo's private longtail is the only private boat of the five: one price per boat for up to six passengers, with 4- or 6-hour options. The listing names no guide and no itinerary, so don't expect a guided day. Drinking water, cola, snorkel gear, life jackets, a beach chair, a first aid kit and insurance are included.

The catch is getting there: there's no transfer, so you make your own way to the meeting point and meet the captain at least 15 minutes early. The listing says a Koh Hey entrance fee of ~THB 100 per person is paid at the entry point, and a SUP board costs extra per person.

Skip it if you want lunch and hotel pickup in the price – Phuket Paradise Travel's day includes both. The listing says the tour isn't suitable for pregnant guests or people with mobility impairments, heart problems or high blood pressure.

How far is Coral Island from Phuket, and how do you get there?

Coral Island, also called Koh Hey or Ko Hae, lies about ten kilometres south of Phuket, according to Oh-Hoo's half-day listing on GetYourGuide. It's a different island from Koh Larn, the "Coral Island" off Pattaya.

On the three speedboat tours, a van takes about 45 minutes to Chalong Pier, and the speedboat legs are listed at about 30 to 45 minutes. The catamaran includes hotel transfers only as a booking option, and the private longtail has none.

Is Coral Island worth it, and is it better than Phi Phi?

Coral Island is worth it for a beach-and-snorkelling trip that doesn't take the whole day: Oh-Hoo's half-day takes 4 hours, while the Phi Phi tours from Phuket in our Phi Phi guide ran 8 to 9 hours where the listing states a length.

Choose Phi Phi for Pileh Lagoon, Maya Bay (closed 1 August – 30 September every year) and a full day of island-hopping; choose Coral Island for a half day, or for long beach stops close to Phuket. They're separate trips, so you can do both: our comparison of Phi Phi Island tours from Phuket covers the bigger day.

How much does a Coral Island tour cost, and are fees included?

Per-person prices on GetYourGuide for these Coral Island tours ran from ~THB 1,500 to ~THB 3,300 when we checked in October 2026, and Oh-Hoo's private longtail was ~THB 4,500 per boat for up to six. Prices vary by season and booking option, so check the live price for your date.

Shared by six, the private boat cost less per head than any group tour here, even with the entrance fee – but you arrange your own transport and food. What the price leaves out also differs from tour to tour, so check these in the option you book:

  • Park fee: included on Seven Plus Travel's catamaran; Oh-Hoo's two speedboat listings and Phuket Paradise Travel's don't mention one, so check the listing before you pay.
  • Koh Hey entrance fee: ~THB 100 per person, paid at the entry point, according to Oh-Hoo's private-boat listing.
  • Lunch: included on Oh-Hoo's full day, the catamaran and Phuket Paradise Travel's day; not listed on the half-day or the private boat.
  • Hotel pickup: free from listed areas on Oh-Hoo's two speedboat tours, included from 14 listed locations on Phuket Paradise Travel's day, only with a transfer option on the catamaran, and not offered on the private boat.
  • Extras: beach water sports cost extra on Phuket Paradise Travel's day, parasailing appears on the half-day's and the catamaran's listings but not on their included lists, and a SUP board costs extra on the private boat.
